I'm 38. Until about a year ago, I wore the same kind of underwear pretty much every day of my life (until i started going without more often) from the time I stopped wearing diapers. Then, last year on a shopping trip, I was shopping for new underwear (of the same standard old white briefs that have the unfortunate nickname of "tighty-whiteys") when I saw a pack of colored underwear. Bikini briefs they may be called. Don't cover nearly as much as normal briefs. So I grabbed the pack, tossed it in the cart, and continued with my business.
When I got home, pretty much the first thing I did was go in the bedroom and try on a pair of the new underwear. I did it by myself because I didn't know how they would look or feel, and I was a little embarrassed to be seen in them by my SO without having checked them first. Well, she loved them, and though they were different, I loved them also. Sure, they might not cover as much, but they're much more supportive up front, and frankly, they make my already attractive backside look even better (frontside too).
So I recently went on another shopping trip (I only really shop for clothes about once a year - I don't like doing it, I don't like spending money on clothes, and what I buy tends to very strongly resemble the things I bought the previous times). But having learned from last time, I resolved to purchase some more new underwear. This time, however, the SO looked for some she thought I would look good in and would be comfortable. She picked out a pack of fairly monochrome greyscale boxer briefs (I've never been comfortable with boxers as underwear - I like a lot more support. If I were going to wear boxers, might as well just wear shorts and be done with it).
I have to say, I like them. They're quire comfortable, and if I may say so, they make my posterior look even better than the bikini briefs, which is good because over the last year, I've lost some weight that I didn't want to lose (mostly muscle mass related to a lack of proper eating or any eating but that's another post). My point is, with this weight loss, my backside lost some of it's size and definition as well, and I haven't really been too happy about that. So these boxer briefs, with their ability to make it look "like a peach", have actually helped me feel a little better about myself.
Now, I'm not saying new underwear will cure what ails you. I'm just saying, try to buy something different from what you normally wear when it comes to your clothes sometimes. I never believed that it could make a difference, but it can, and maybe that can provide just a little boost, a little pick me up if you're feeling a bit down on yourself. And feel free to mix it up a bit. It's clothes, not tattoos. If something doesn't work, trying a new one is damned easy.
